چکیده
WC-Cr3C2-Ni coatings are a vital class of hard ceramic/cermet with potential applications as wear-resistant materials. However, their erosion wear behavior in 3.5 wt.% sodium chloride medium (SCM) remains largely unexplored. The present study investigated the cavitation–silt (CSE) SCM sprayed high-velocity oxygen–fuel (HVOF) under different flow velocities (FVs) and sand concentrations (SCs). Comparing coating 1Cr18Ni9Ti stainless steel, first possessed superior CSE resistance full range FV SC. Meanwhile, appeared more influenced by less SC, which was indicated fact that amplification VLR value (377.1%) when ranged from 23.4 to 41.9 m·s?1 larger than (129.8%) SC increased 10 kg·m?3 35 kg·m?3. With increasing process mainly included discontinuous corrosion product films, pits, fracturing hard-phase grains, micro-cutting soft binder matrix, well crater formation spalling.

Effect of Carbide Particle Size on the Microstructure, Mechanical properties, and Wear Behavior of HVOF-sprayed WC-17% Co Coatings
This study investigates the effect of carbide particle size on the microstructure, mechanical properties, and abrasive wear resistance of WC-17%Co HVOF-sprayed coatings. The characteristics of WC-1, WC-2, and WC-3 coatings with carbide sizes of 1 µm, 0.9 µm, and 0.5 µm, respectively, were also investigated. WC-1 coating experienced the maximum carbon loss of 42%, while WC-2 and WC-3 coatings un...

Numerical modeling the bonding mechanism of HVOF sprayed particles
During high velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) thermal spraying, most powder particles remain in solid state prior to the formation of coating. A finite element (FE) model is developed to study the impact of thermally sprayed solid particles on substrates and to establish the critical particle impact parameters needed for adequate bonding. The particles are given the properties of widely usedWC-Co powder...
متن کاملEffect of WC Concentration on Abrasive Wear Properties of the Thermally Sprayed WC -Ni Coatings
In this work the effects of WC concentration on abrasive wear behavior by thermally sprayed WC coating was evaluated using three body abrasive wear tester. A different combination of WC and NI coatings were deposited on steel substrates by flame spraying using powder with different WC concentrations (0 %, 12.5 %, 25 %, and 50 %). Flame torch was used for heating and coating of process. Microstr...
متن کاملExperimental and Numerical Study of Residual Stress in the WC-12Co HVOF Sprayed Coatings
Thermally sprayed coatings are intrinsically associated with residual stresses in the deposits. These stresses are varied in nature and magnitude, and have a pronounced effect on the mechanical behavior of the system. In the current study, WC-12Co coatings were deposited using HVOF thermal spraying. The sin2ψ method was used to evaluate the through thickness residual stress by means ...
